Alstroemeria - Find Florists in India - Charming Flowers

Upside down leaves and brightly coloured blooms; these are the characteristics that make the alstroemeria such a distinctive and interesting flower. Sometimes mistaken for miniature lilies, the alstroemeria can be easily recognised by the dark markings in their trumpet shaped heads and yellow throats.

The alstroemeria has a host of spiritual interpretations, from devotion and friendship to the achievement of aspirations; making it the perfect good luck gift or token of companionship.

Alstroemeria is also called the Peruvian lily and is often grown commercially because the cut flowers last a long time.

It is a perennial, and the flower spikes that bloom are 12 to 24 inches high.

They can be grown in pots and come in a range of colors, including cream, orange, and red, oftentimes with spots of other colors.

Alstroemeria, commonly called the Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of flowering plants in the family Alstroemeriaceae.

They are all native to South America although some have become naturalized in the United States, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Madeira and the Canary Islands.

We’ll be sharing more about this flower in future.
